Noho & Nolita

Neighborhood Boundaries: Noho – Astor Place to the north, Cooper Square to the east, East Houston to the south, Broadway to the west; Nolita – East Houston to the north, Broome Street to the south, Bowery to the east, Lafayette Street to the west

Subways: R, W, 6, B, D, F, J and Z

Architecture: primarily pre-war walk-ups and tenement style buildings, along with a smattering of new development primarily concentrated around Bond Street, Kenmare Street and Bowery

What I Like Most About It:

Nolita (“North of Little Italy”) and Noho (“North of Houston”) are both tiny pockets of downtown hipness. In each neighborhood, there are fantastic indie shops on every corner. The large number of wonderful restaurants, cafes and bars makes both areas fantastic picks for a night out with friends. But the active nightlife doesn’t at all derail from each neighborhoods’ very chill vibes. You’re also just a hop, skip and a jump away from other amazing downtown neighborhoods like Soho, the East Village and Greenwich Village.
