1. Community Bookstore

143 7th Ave

This is the oldest bookstore you’ll find in Park Slope. It’s been around since 1971 and has a fascinating and diverse selection of books: classics, contemporary, and fiction, as well as wonderfully friendly staff. You can also enjoy their gorgeous garden, where they host readings and events. I highly recommend grabbing a copy of their almanac of New York City. It’s got so many wonderful tidbits of information about what to expect in NYC for each month plus insightful, enjoyable quotes from famous residents, past and present.

If you adore romance novels, you’ve hit the jackpot with this shop. The Ripped Bodice is the only exclusively romance bookstore in NYC, and you can find a diverse collection of titles, from historical to paranormal, from sweet to steamy.
